Scientific Writing & Peer Review

  • IMRaD structure: Introduction (funnel), Methods (reproducible), Results, Discussion
  • Writing principles: one idea per sentence, active voice, avoiding jargon
  • Figure design: Tufte data-to-ink ratio, colourblind palettes, 300dpi TIF/PDF
  • Reference management: Zotero — library, citation styles, Word/Overleaf integration
  • Peer review: roles, types, writing a constructive review, responding to reviewers
